My relationship with Salman Khan is too personal to talk about. I take my work like any other regular job and what I do in my personal life is no one's business. I'd rather let my work do all the talking.

Gay sex legalised; Things you need to know...

It's a big day for India's sexual minority. In a major victory for 25 lakh homosexuals in the country, the Delhi High Court today pronounced its verdict on the controversial penal provision on homosexuality legalising consensual same-sex in the country. After 150 years, section 377 of the IPC that criminalised same sex has been amended.

No wonder, Celina Jaitley who has been fighting for the gay rights is jumping with joy. In her latest blog she writes:

It’s really amusing to see how people jump to conclusions the moment we utter the sentence, “Oh... he/she is gay!”

If it’s a gay man most people think ... “oh, he’s a cross-dressing queen”...or... “the guy must walk like a woman and love to wear blue eyeliner” ...and sometimes people will immediately conclude that “...he is a threat to all masculinity”. And if it’s a gay woman, then the first conclusion people jump to is the word “Dyke”.

Well, I would really like to clear these perceptions because every gay person is different. These are the things you need to know about gay people:

A) All gay men don’t dress/walk/talk or want to be like women

B) All gay women don’t want to dress up like a man with a crew cut and walk around scratching their balls.

C) Some gay people are just trapped emotionally in the wrong body and hence they display/emulate the traits of the opposite sex... which is also a part of some gays’ personalities (transgenders/transsexuals).

D) Transgender is an umbrella term used to describe people whose gender identity (sense of themselves as male or female) or gender expression differs from that usually associated with their birth sex. Many transgenders live part-time or full-time as members of the other gender.

E) Transsexuals are transgender people who live or wish to live full-time as members of the gender opposite to their birth sex. Biological females who wish to live and be recognized as men are called female-to-male (FTM) transsexuals or transsexual men.

Biological males who wish to live and be recognized as women are called male-to-female (MTF) transsexuals or transsexual women. Transsexuals usually seek medical interventions, such as hormones and surgery, to make their bodies as congruent as possible with their preferred gender.

The process of transitioning from one gender to the other is called sex reassignment or gender reassignment.

F) Cross-dressers or transvestites comprise the most numerous transgender group. Cross-dressers wear the clothing of the other sex.

They vary in how completely they dress (from one article of clothing to fully cross-dressing) as well as in their motives for doing so. Some cross-dress to express cross-gender feelings or identities; others cross-dress for fun, for emotional comfort, or for sexual arousal.

The great majority of cross-dressers are biological males, most of whom are sexually attracted to women.

G) Drag queens and drag kings are, respectively, biological males and females who present themselves part-time as members of the other sex primarily to perform or entertain.

Their performances may include singing, lip-syncing, or dancing. Drag performers may or may not identify as transgender. Many drag queens and kings identify as gay, lesbian, or bisexual.

So this is so much that you didn’t know about the various aspects of being gay. From personal experience I can say, one look and you can tell a person is gay; on the other hand, one lifetime and you may never know he/she is gay.

So ... to cut a long story short, whatever traits they display — that does not diminish their capability as a human being or as a professional.

Today I present to you my research on one such case which should shut the mouths of all homophobics whose masculinity is threatened by gay men.

‘Ra 1’ has been put on hold again. Reason – Shah Rukh Khan, the hero of the movie, is actually not fit enough to carry on the movie. The Baadshah of Bollywood experienced a shoulder injury and had not come out of the injury still completely. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, ‘Ra 1’ is a science fiction story and involves lots of action and body strain and so our SRK, who plays a superhero, is not confident to do the movie at present because of his bad shoulder.

After his surgery, SRK started shooting for Karan Johar’s My Name is Khan, which he will soon complete. However, he decided to temporarily put 'Ra 1' on hold as he is required to do some serious action sequences in the film. SRK decided to push 'Ra 1' to 2010 after he recently went for a check-up in the US where he is currently shooting for Karan’s film. After the check-up, SRK felt the time is not right to do the action film as there is quite a high risk that his injury will aggravate if he doesn’t take it easy. Now, SRK has decided to first start Farah Khan’s film ‘Happy New Year’.

They generally have a concept, they generally have an idea and we have this entire team, it works together to get this beautiful picture across," says Deepika.

And if you're looking for Deepika's style mantra, the Om Shanti Om girl believes in keeping it simple.

"Personally I'm someone who would like to dress very simply. I don't like exaggerating too much because it's something that happens to me on a daily basis. I'm always at a shoot or always doing something or the other or on a film set where so much is happening and even if it's a simple jeans and a T-shirt, it's part of the costume. So personally I always prefer wearing something that I'm comfortable in, something I don't have to worry about. But at the same time, I believe in wearing your personality. I think that is very important. I'm someone who would rather wear something that I'm comfortable in and something I think would speak for me versus following a fashion trend," says she.

Make-up artist Mickey Contractor, who did Deepika's look for the photoshoot, says, "We basically decided that it should be something that is very close to the '40s. Not exactly depicting the '40s but something that is between '40s and '50s and we wanted to keep it very divaesque and since the liners are also the new trend again. So that's the kind of look we've kept. It's a very dark burgundy mouth and, hot basically."

Fashion Director Vogue India, Anaita Shroff Adajania adds, "Well, I think what we've tried to do this time with Deepika is to work on the whole play of romance, the beauty of the monsoon. It's more that when we had Deepika for the cover we felt this was the look that would work best for her. It was kind of like the whole cover was styled around her being the cover personality."

Akshay Kumar has worked with both Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in several films, but can't decide who is better. The action king says both are "wonderful actresses" and have "sexy bodies".

"Both Kareena and Katrina are really good but who is the better among them depends on their roles in the films. Otherwise, both of them have sexy bodies and are absolutely wonderful actresses," said Akshay when asked to choose his favourite of the two.

Akshay has done four films with Katrina including Namastey London and Singh Is Kinng, while he has worked with Kareena in five that include hits Ajnabee and Aitraaz.

The two are set to scorch the screen once again in their upcoming action-cum-romantic drama Kambakkht Ishq, which releases on Friday.

"In Kambakkht Ishq, Kareena has performed very well. Her character required to answer back at me and be strong and she has portrayed it in a powerful, yet lovable way. "I cannot particularly point out what I have learnt from them (Kareena and Katrina) yet, but yes, working with them was a learning experience," said the actor, who has also teamed up with young actresses like Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Ayesha Takia.
